We pay fair and consistent wages for all goods and reinvest into our artisans, their families, and their communities in Bali. Our artisans work safely from their homes and villages, are paid per finished piece, and have flexible schedules that support family life.
We also give back through skills training, women’s work programs, and education support for children. Through partnerships like the Women’s Workshop and Bali Life Foundation, we help provide training, schooling, and daily wages for women in Bali.
When needs arise, we also step in to support our artisan communities directly. For example, we partnered with the John Fawcett Foundation to help provide cataract surgery for one of our artisans and her village.
Every Village Thrive purchase helps support meaningful work, traditional craft, and stronger village communities.
We accept returns within 21 days of purchase.

- Items must be returned in the same condition they were received.
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
Because our pieces are handmade and one of a kind, slight variations in color, texture, shape, and weave are part of their natural beauty.

Each piece is handmade and naturally unique. The overall shape and style will be the same, but small differences in color, texture, and weave are expected. That is what makes your piece truly one of a kind.
Our rattan bags are smoked by hand, which strengthens the rattan and gives it its natural color. After smoking, the bags are dried in the sun, but a light smoky scent may remain.
The scent will fade over time. To speed up the process, place the bag in a breezy, well-ventilated area for a few days.
This is normal for handwoven rattan. If a small piece sticks out, simply trim it accordingly. We recommend avoiding delicate fabrics like silk that may snag on natural woven materials.
We inspect all items before shipping, but if your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
Email us with photos of the damaged item, the shipping box, and all packaging materials. Please keep the item and packaging while you wait for our response so we can help guide you through the next steps.

We ship orders within 1–3 business days.
Domestic orders typically arrive within 3–5 business days after shipment. We use USPS, FedEx, and UPS, and tracking will be shared once your order ships.
International orders can take around 2–5 weeks depending on the destination and shipping service.
For express shipping, please contact us before placing your order so we can share available options and estimated costs.
We care about both our products and their impact. Our packaging is designed to minimize waste and may include compostable mailers, recycled paper materials, eco-friendly tissue paper, recycled protective packaging, and eco-friendly stickers.
We also use natural and sustainable materials whenever possible, including raw, plant-based, and locally abundant materials. We avoid unnecessary coatings, chemicals, and treatments so the natural beauty of each piece can shine.
